Foy's Lake is an artificial lake located in Khulshi area near Pahartali railway station of Chittagong. Located at a distance of 8 km from the zero point. It was excavated in 1924 under the supervision of the Assam Bengal Railway Authority and was then known as Pahartali Lake. The lake was later named after the British engineer who was instrumental in its design. This large (336 acres) lake is created by damming a narrow valley between one mountain peak and another. The transversely constructed dam created this lake by diverting the flow of water coming down from the hill range on the northern side of Chittagong city. Batali Hill, the highest hill of Chittagong city, is next to Faiz Lake. Many local and foreign tourists flock to the lake every year due to its scenic surroundings and natural beauty. 

There are many things to see in this lake. Just as there are various rides for children, adults will also find the hills and lakes a charming environment. The area is surrounded by hills and in the middle are the hearts named Arunamayi, Gdhuli, Akashmani, Mandakini, Dakshini, Alkananda. Rows of boats will be seen on the banks of Hrid. It will take ten minutes to go by boat. After that you will see green hills on both sides, sometimes a buck or two and many unknown birds. Along with this there is a deer grazing area in a pleasant environment. A small zoo has been set up at the entrance of Faiz Lake to attract tourists. The biggest attraction of Faiz Lake is the beauty of the lake and its surrounding mountains. 

An amusement park has recently opened at Fayez Lake. The lake has boat tours, landscaping, restaurants, floating stage concerts, scenic walks and many other fun and enjoyment things. Visitors can take a boat ride to enjoy the breathtaking view of the lake. The amusement park has 2 high slides and they are high speed roller coaster and bumper boat. There is a recreation center with something for people of all ages and tastes. People can enjoy fun and excitement as well as tranquility and peace at Fayez Lake. 'Sea World' is a water theme park at Fayez Lake in the heart of Chittagong. Splash pools, water coaster riders, and everything one would expect from a world-class theme park, Sea World has it all. 

Although the entrance to Faiz Lake Entertainment World from the Chittagong side has been completely changed, the natural beauty of the lake is still very evident. So many visitors have over-enjoyed the amusement park while many enjoy the natural beauty of Fayez Lake more.

How to go:

To go to Faiz Lake from Dhaka, you have to go to Chittagong first. You can go to Chittagong by BRTC from Kamalapur Terminal and by Saudia, Greenline, Silk Line, Sohag, Bagdad Express, Unique etc. from Syedabad Bus Station. Greenline (02-7100301), Sohag (02-934447), Saudia (01197015610), TR (02-8031189), Hanif (01713402671) etc. AC buses go to Chittagong. Rent 850-1100 Tk. RS Alam, Saudia, Unique, Shyamoli, Hanif, Eagle etc. bus fare is Tk 400-500. 

Chittagong can be reached by road and rail from Sylhet. By road, AC and non-AC buses of Greenline Transport go to Chittagong. Besides, Antanagar Paharika Express departs from Sylhet Railway Station at 10:15 AM every day except Saturday, Antanagar Udayan Express at 9:20 PM every day except Sunday and mail train Jalalabad Express departs for Chittagong at 10:30 PM every day of the week. Rent 175 to 1200 taka. 

Chittagong by train or railway: 

By train on Dhaka-Chittagong route, Mahanagar Prabhati leaves Dhaka at 7:40 am, Chattla Express leaves Dhaka at 9:20 am, Mahanagar Godhuli leaves Dhaka at 3 pm, Suvarna Express leaves Dhaka at 4:20 pm, Turna leaves Dhaka at 11 pm. Rent 160 to 1100 taka. 

Chittagong by Air or Air: 

Bangladesh Biman (02-9560151-10), GMG Airlines (02-8922248) and United Air (02-8957640), Regent Air (02-8953003) can go directly to Chittagong from Dhaka. 

Chittagong to Faiz Lake: 

CNG will charge Tk 60 to Tk 70 from GEC junction in Chittagong city. Take a rickshaw for 40 taka. The tour cannot be completed in one afternoon, so if you have a day plan, it is better to go in the morning.

Fayez Lake has self-managed luxury accommodation. There are wonderful cottages and resorts on the lake shores on the hillsides. Honeymoon cottages are available for newlyweds. Of course, you can visit Foy's Lake from other residential hotels if you wish. Etree fee and ride cost are within reach. All rides including entry to Theme Park Foy's Lake Concord Amusement World 200 Taka, all rides including entry to Water Park Sea World Concord 350 Taka. Resort and cottage rent is 2500 to 7000 taka per night in Fayez Lake Resort and 2500 to 6000 taka per night in resort bungalow.
